CRC Celebrates the 4th of July in Central and Southern California
Thousands of residents and visitors showed up in red, white and blue for Huntington Beach’s Annual Fourth of July Parade and Celebration. The three-day celebration, which California Resources Corporation (CRC) was proud to sponsor, kicked off with a street bash on July 3rd followed by the Surf City 5K Run on the 4th, which included several CRC employee runners. Desmond Fuzee, Senior HSE Advisor at CRC, said, “I had a great time running in the event with fellow co-workers, friends and neighbors of the community. I’m always up for giving back to the community and doing so in a healthy way. I had so much fun.”
CRC sponsored two family events in west Ventura County for Independence Day picnics and fireworks. In Santa Paula, CRC supported the Santa Paula Rotary fireworks annual display at Harding Park. Al Guilin, co-chair of the committee, recognized the contributions of many local businesses (including CRC), civic organizations and individuals who worked hard to raise the money necessary to fund this celebration.
CRC also sponsored the 25th annual Ventura Fireworks Show & Family Picnic presented by the Ventura Rotary Club at Ventura College. The event spanned across the athletic fields and included live music, food vendors and a Kid’s “Fun Zone” in addition to a spectacular fireworks show. Paul Lancaster, Automation Specialist Advisor at CRC, attended the event and said, “This was a great opportunity for my family to spend time together at a central, safe location. We really enjoyed all the activities provided and, of course, the fireworks! I’m proud that CRC continues to support this event.”
In keeping with the patriotic spirit in the Central Valley, CRC supported Shafter’s Fireworks Celebration on July 3rd. The annual pre-Fourth of July fireworks show is a community tradition that has built a reputation as one of the area’s premier holiday festivities. The dazzling fireworks show drew thousands of eager participants to Shafter High School’s football field.
CRC was also proud to sponsor the Taft District Chamber of Commerce’s annual Fireworks Show on July 4th, which drew residents from surrounding areas to Taft’s beautiful Rails to Trails Bike Path. What was most memorable about the evening was the brilliant fireworks show that lit up the Taft Oilworker Monument as the Taft Union High School Jazz Band performed patriotic music.
CRC also had the honor of being a first-time sponsor of the Hanford Chamber of Commerce’s 2nd annual Big Bad Boom Celebration at the Kings County Fairgrounds, which featured a unique fireworks show synchronized to music. This epic concept started last year entertaining folks from far and wide.
